Curious what Canonical & Ubuntu will be presenting to the world this year? Here’s a sneak peak:

Ubuntu Core 20: Securing Linux for Iot and embedded systems

This year we’re thrilled to be showcasing UC20 – a minimal, containerised version of Ubuntu 20.04 LTS for IoT devices and embedded systems. This major version bolsters device security with secure boot, full disk encryption, and secure device recovery. Ubuntu Core builds on the Ubuntu application ecosystem to create ultra-secure smart things.

“Every connected device needs guaranteed platform security and an app store” explains Mark Shuttleworth Canonical’s founder and CEO. “Ubuntu Core 20 enables innovators to create highly secure things and focus entirely on their own unique features and apps, with confinement and security updates built into the operating system.”

Come by the Canonical booth to discover more details, talks, and 1-2-1 engineer video calls on UC 20.

Forum speaking session: Bosch Rexroth on the path to complete automation with Ubuntu Core

You’ll find us at the speaker forum where we give you a glimpse on how you can get creative with Ubuntu Core, but this time we’ll let our users give you their first-hand experience. Bosch Rexroth will be giving a presentation entitled ‘Ubuntu Core for industry 4.0: Bosch Rexroth’s path to complete automation’.

In order to fully benefit from Industry 4.0, the classic boundaries between operational technology like machine controls, the IT world and the Internet of Things need to be overcome. This session will explain how Bosch Rexroth approaches this with its new complete automation solution ctrlX AUTOMATION which is based on Linux with real-time extension, consistently open standards, app programming technology, web-based engineering and a comprehensive IoT connection.

Join Hans Michael Krause, Director ctrlX World Ecosystem, Bosch Rexroth for live Q&A.

Roundtables: Ubuntu for all things embedded

Every day, we will be hosting a roundtable discussion with expert speakers from our team. Come by our booth to discover the full session schedule and RSVP – but hurry, spots are limited to only 40 per session! You will have the chance to interact fully with our speakers and fellow attendees (a great chance for all of us to get out of our pyjamas).

Let’s connect and discuss the following topics:

  • Ubuntu for Automotive
  • Ubuntu Core: A technical introduction
  • Ubuntu for Industrial controllers (featuring Bosch Rexroth)
  • From Yocto to Ubuntu Core: enterprise-grade embedded Linux
  • Ubuntu Certification for ODMs

Can’t wait to see you all there!
